Read the power point about Australian Dinosaurs. After you have finished type a comment about what you learnt or what you found interesting. You could then type what you are wondering about dinosaurs. If you have time, write down the name you would give to a dinosaur if you found a dinosaur bone.

As we were learning about the rainforest we decided to turn our room into one! We were inspired by the book ‘Where the Forest Meets the Sea’ by Jeannie Baker. So we decided to do a mural using some of her techniques. We got into groups and became experts on each layer so we knew what to include. One thing we knew we needed was vines!! We made them out of crepe paper and hung them all around the room. We had great fun making toucans and boa constrictors. We chose our favourite animals to add to the mural. Some of us made butterflies, some made chameleons, some made a jaguar and some made a caiman.

When we went to the zoo it was very rainy, but that was perfect because we were learning about rainforests! So we felt like we were in one. But it definitely wasn’t hot and humid like the Amazon or Daintree.

We go to the garden every Thursday. Alia teaches us lots of things. We have learnt about worms, they are invertebrates. They have 3 hearts! They have no brains but we need them on the garden. They help us to compost the garden. We have a worm farm and we collect the worm wee and put it on our plants. Sometimes we plant cuttings, sometimes we look for invertebrates, sometimes we look at leaves and draw them, sometimes we do the weeding, sometimes we plant weeds, sometimes we dig the compost. We have even sprayed garlic on the plants to stop the bugs from eating them.We are SO BUSY! We like to watchs the chooks and see if we can find some eggs. We are so lucky to have a garden at St Thomas’.
